 General fishing


Best time:  
Rhyl produces plenty of fish all year round, April through to October will see species such as Dabs, Whiting, Plaice, Black Bream, Tub, Red and Grey Gurnards, Mackerel, Herring, L.s.d's, Smooth Hound, Huss, Rays and Tope are all common, other species like Coaley, Codlings, Conger, John Dory, Ballen Wrasse, Pout and Poor Cod also turn up on some occasions, however mainly Whiting, Dabs and LS Dogfish over the winter months - October to April
.
Trips can be arranged for Flatfish only - Plaice, Flounder and Dabs, these trips need to be 7 or 8 hours duration, fishing is very sporting as only light tackle is used - if this takes your fancy give me a call

High neaps to low springs 26' to 30', Liverpool tides

Methods:
Downtiding fish hard onto the seabed. For all species other then mackerel and Herring. These can be found at varying depths by jigging Mini Hokkis or small Feathers
TACKLE

DABS, WHITING, GURNARDS, PLAICE AND BLACK BREAM ARE JUST SOME OF THE FISH AVAILABLE BY USING - 15-20 LB CLASS ROD, ABU 7000 SIZE REEL, 20-25 LB BRAID / MONO, SIZE 6 - 1/0 THREE HOOK SCRATCH RIGS WITH PLENTY OF GLITTER AND COLOUR OR BAITED FEATHERS. BEST BAITS, LUG, MACKEREL, SQUID, MUSSEL, RAG, CRAB ( INSHORE ONLY ) OR AMMO SAND EEL.

HUSS, TURBOT & BRILL WILL BE TAKEN BY USING THE SAME TACKLE AS FOR THORNBACK RAYS
