JANUARY 2010  

(22 / 01 / 2010 ) This month has produced a few Cod in the 3 to 4 lb range along with a good splattering of Dabs and Whiting

best Cod this month weighed in at 11 lb 13 oz for Adam Leech

FEBRUARY 2010
( 21 / 02 / 2010 ) The continuing snow and ice cold water running into the Mersey this month has all but wiped out the fishing, hardly any Whiting, the odd Cod and a few Dabs have been very hard work for a days fishing, called it a day yesterday and headed back to Rhyl for the summer where the fishing will be a lot more productive
MARCH 2009
(26 / 03 / 2010 ) Very. very, poor fishing this month, just a few Dabs and Whiting to show for the early part, but started to improve towards the end of the month
APRIL 2010
( 12 / 04 / 2010 )Plenty of Dabs, Whiting and Dogs, a few Plaice, Huss and Rays making an appearance along with the first Mackerel and Herrings ( 12 / 04 / 2010 ) Pretty much the same as earlier in the month with the exception of a few Red Gurnards, the Mackerel and Herring have disappeared due to the algae in the water but they should be back soon
MAY 
( 11 / 05 / 2010 ) Plenty of Dabs and Whiting, a few Tub and Red Gurnards starting to show along with a few Mackerel, Herrings, Huss, Plaice, Smooth Hounds and the odd Bass

This one weighed in at 6 lbs 12 ozs ( 25 / 05 / 2010 ) Fishing is improving all the time, Mackerel, Herring, Tub and Red Gurnards, Dabs, Whiting, Plaice, Dogs, Black Bream, Huss and Smooth Hounds all showing in numbers along with a few Thornback Rays and Conger

This Huss weighed in at 14 lbs 15 ozs and this Smoothie went to 11 lb 11 oz

JUNE
( 3 / 06 / 2010 )Plenty of Dabs, Whiting, Dogs, Gurnards, Huss and Smooth Hounds, quite a few Mackerel, Herrings and Tope along with a few Plaice, Black Bream, Conger, Thornback Ray and Bass

This was the first Tope of the year ( 29 / 06 / 2010 )No real change in the fishing, still pretty much the same apart from a dramatic increase in the number of Bull Huss

This Tope went to 54. lbs whilst this Tub went to 5 lb. 10 ozs

JULY
( 11 / 07 / 10 ) Weather wise this month has not been as good as the last two, thankfully the fishing has, still plenty of Dabs, Whiting, Gurnards and  Mackerel along with some Good sized Tope, plenty of Bull Huss and the odd Thorn back Ray,  Black Bream and Ballen Wrasse ( 30 / 07 / 10 ) This month has turned out to be absolute dire, 10 days work, what fishing we have got in has been pretty good Dabs, Gurnards, Huss, Tope, Mackerel, Herrings, Black Bream, Congers, some decent sized Smooth Hounds and a few Bass along with the odd sizable Codling, Simon did manage to get out wrecking on on occasion and had Just short of 100 Pollack to 7 lbs, 2 Cod, 1 Coalie and 1 Ling

 

AUGUST 
( 21 / 08 / 2009 ) Weather has been patchy so far this month along with the fishing, we had a very quiet spell a week or so ago but has now picked up again, Dabs are a little thin on the ground otherwise plenty of Whiting, Huss, L,S,Ds, Mackerel and some small Gurnards, still the odd Tope and Thornback Ray, inshore Smooth Hounds are still showing along with some jumbo Mackerel, not managed to do any wrecking due to the weather
SEPTEMBER
( 7 / 09 / 2009 )Weather still bad, only managed a couple of 5 hour trips, fishing close inshore has produced L.s.ds', Dabs, Whiting, Mackerel and Smooth Hounds, the odd Huss, a few Thornback Ray and a few small Tope.( 29 / 09 / 2009 )Pretty much the same as earlier in the month apart from plenty of Dabs, Whiting and L,s,ds' on the end of the river and the Smooth Hound have gone
OCTOBER
( 12 / 10 / 2009 )1st weekend on the Mersey has produced plenty of Thornback Ray, 56 fish between myself and Simon, most of them between 4 and 7 lbs with only two in double figures, plenty of Whiting, a few Dabs and a couple of small Codlings ( 31 / 10 / 2009 )Fishing continues to remain the same as the last set of tides with the exception of loads of small Codling and plenty of good sized Dabs. Rays are still showing in numbers, "Jensen" took 12 on Friday and 25 yesterday, biggest 10 lb 6 oz,( pictured ) all fish were released. NOVEMBER 
( 11 / 11 / 2008 )Still plenty of Dabs, Whiting and Thornback Rays being caught, L,s,ds' seem to have gone, quite a few small Codling starting to appear ( 27 / 11 / 2008 ) Still a few Rays about, plenty of Dabs and Whiting with quite a few Cod in the 2 1/2 to 4 1/2 pound range showing
DECEMBER
( 29 / 12 / 2009 )This month has been pretty good, still quite a few Thornies early on, plenty of good quality Dabs and Whiting, quite a few Cod in the 2 1/2 to 4 lbs range, best one so far 14 lbs 12 ozs  taken by Dan Copeland followed two days later by a 7 lb 10 oz fish
